Legal information

Privacy policy

This page sets out plainly what data we collect when you ask for a quotation, what it is used for, who else handles it and what you can require from us at any time.

Who the controller is

Modular Living Europe is the controller of the personal data collected through this website. For any privacy matter, write to info@modularlivingeurope.com or call +351 933 268 709.

What we collect

What we ask for and why

There is a single collection point across the whole site: the quotation form. There is no customer area, nothing is sold online and no data is required in order to browse.

We do not collect special category data, we do not build profiles and we take no automated decisions with legal effects on anyone.

The legal bases we rely on

Consent

The form is only submitted once you tick the consent box. That consent covers our reply to your enquiry and the follow-up messages about that same enquiry. You may withdraw it at any time, without giving reasons and at no cost, by replying to any of our messages or writing to info@modularlivingeurope.com. From that moment we stop contacting you.

Performance of a contract

If the enquiry turns into an accepted proposal, we then process the data needed to perform the contract: design, permits, manufacture, transport and installation.

Legal obligation

Invoicing data and tax records are kept for the periods Portuguese law requires, regardless of any consent.

Follow-up

What happens after you submit the form

01

Immediate reply

You automatically receive a confirmation message with the technical questions we need answered in order to quote your case.

02

One month of follow-up

If you do not reply, we send up to four messages over the first month. As soon as you reply, the sequence stops at once.

03

Quarterly news

After that, at most four messages a year with news on models and lead times, for twelve months, and never more than eight messages in total.

04

The end

If you ask us to stop, or twelve months pass without any contact from you, we stop writing and the record is deleted within the periods below.

Processors

Who else handles this data

We do not sell, rent or pass data to third parties for commercial purposes. We use only the service providers the website and the mailbox cannot work without, all bound by a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR.

How long we keep the data

  • Enquiries that went no further: twelve months from first contact, after which the record is deleted.
  • Deletion requests: we keep only the email address on a suppression list, to make sure we never contact you again by mistake. It is the minimum needed to honour your wish.
  • Customers under contract: project data is kept for the duration of the contract and the warranty, and tax records for the applicable statutory periods.
  • Email in the mailbox: correspondence is archived while it retains commercial or evidential relevance and deleted once it does not.

Cookies and measurement

This site uses no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no social media pixels. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel and no identifier that follows you across sites — which is also why you will not see a cookie banner.

The light or dark theme is chosen automatically from your operating system preference and is not stored on your device.

Your rights

Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 you have the right to ask us for access to your data, rectification of anything inaccurate, erasure, restriction of processing, portability in a machine-readable format, and to object to the processing. You may also withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

Simply write to info@modularlivingeurope.com. We answer within one month at the latest, and we charge nothing for it.

If you believe we have not handled the matter as we should, you may lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Protecção de Dados, the Portuguese supervisory authority, at www.cnpd.pt.

Frequently asked

Privacy questions

Will you sell my email address to anyone?

No. We never sell, rent or share addresses with third parties for commercial purposes. The only third parties that handle your data are the processors listed above, and only in order to deliver our own messages.

How do I stop the follow-up messages?

Reply to any of them saying you want them to stop, or write to info@modularlivingeurope.com. Any reply from you, whatever it says, interrupts the automated sequence immediately.

Who is Brevo and why does it hold my data?

Brevo is the European service that physically delivers our email, much as the post office delivers a letter. It handles your name, address and form content solely in order to deliver those messages to you, never for its own purposes, and it is bound by a data processing agreement. The data is hosted in the European Union.

Can I ask for a quotation without giving a phone number?

Yes. Only the name, the email address and the plot location are required: without those three we cannot give you a useful answer. Every other field is optional.

If you delete my data, is it really deleted?

Yes, with one exception that works in your favour: we keep your email address on a suppression list so that a future campaign does not contact you by mistake. If you would rather we deleted that record too, say so and we will.
